As you all know, the SpeakUp5k is a group race for us. Mental health in our community has been on our minds lately and the SpeakUp5k organizers care about it too. A portion of the proceeds from this race will be donated to the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay to support their Florida Healthy Transitions program that is funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The program aims to improve access to treatment and support services for youth and young adults ages 16 – 25 that either have, are experiencing symptoms, or are at risk of developing a serious mental health condition.
Having said all of that, you don't have to run the race to support it. We're also making the opportunity to volunteer with two different groups.
1. Set up Race Course - 6:30 - 8:30 AM (20 openings)
2. Cheer Squad 1 - 8:30 - 10:30 AM (30 openings)
If you would like to volunteer with us, click here to create your account. Once that is done, scroll down to the SpeakUp5k Tampa and select the option above that you want to help with.
